Public finance
Public finance refers to financial support provided by governments and publicly funded international institutions to support activities that seek to mitigate or adapt to the impacts of climate change. In some cases this may happen in combination with the private sector.
Our work in this area covers issues such as climate finance for emerging markets and developing countries and the role of the multilateral development banks and other development finance institutions, financial support for building more sustainable infrastructure, and how public funding can help facilitate a just transition.
