Global financial system
The global financial system refers to the institutions, agreements and markets that help to facilitate the flow of capital across the globe. Climate change impacts pose major risks to the stability of the global financial system. At the same time, the global financial system can play an important role in supporting adaptation to climate impacts and the transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy.
Our work in this area focuses on how the global financial system can be mobilised to tackle climate change and environmental degradation.
