Air pollution
Air pollution is one of the biggest risks to environmental and public health around the world. Exposure to air pollutants such as fine particulate matter can have detrimental effects on respiratory and cardiovascular health, cognition and behaviour. Air pollution has also been associated with other negative consequences such as lower educational outcomes, higher crime rates, and reduced labour productivity.
Our work in this area includes analysis by economists and behavioural scientists on the economics of air pollution, including its costs, the health and well-being impacts, policy solutions and effectiveness, and implications for inequality.
