Sophia Tickell
Sophia is a leader in sustainable finance and delivering multi-stakeholder initiatives. She has been working with Nick Robins as a strategic adviser to the Grantham Research Institute’s financing the just transition programme since 2018. As part of this, she has provided advice, facilitated numerous events across the UK and contributed to a range of policy outputs. She combines both climate expertise with deep understanding of development and social justice priorities.
Sophia is an experienced non-executive director, and has served on asset management, business and charitable boards, as well as academic boards and advisory committees.
Background
Sophia was a Founding Partner of Meteos Ltd, which ran the PharmaFutures, EnergyFutures and BankingFutures dialogues – multi-year, senior and research-based dialogues between fund managers, corporate executives, regulators and civil society, she was Chair and co-Executive Director of SustainAbility Ltd from 2004-2009 and prior to that worked for ten years at Oxfam.
Sophia has a BA from University of Birmingham and an MA from the University of Oxford.
