About

Rob is Executive Director and Professor in Practice at the Centre for Economic Transition Expertise (CETEx), which he joined in March 2025, after serving as a visiting professor in practice at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change since 2023.  He sets strategic direction of CETEx, manages relationships with key international stakeholders across policy institutions and international bodies, and oversees governance, staffing and funding.

Rob arrived from the Bank of England, where he was head of the market intelligence and analysis division, and led analytical work for monetary and financial policy committees. Prior to this, he was head of the financial markets division at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, where he led the organisation’s work on sustainability and financial markets, and represented it at the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group, the Network for the Greening of the Financial System, and other international fora. He also spent fifteen years in managerial and analytical roles at the Financial Stability Board in Basel, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and the European Central Bank.

Background

Rob earned an MBA in finance and strategy from the University of Michigan, and an MA in international relations and economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Salzburg Fellow.
