Understanding the climate–nature nexus and its implications for the economy and financial system

Nature degradation and climate change are not isolated threats: they are deeply interconnected crises that reinforce each other, exacerbating risks for societal and economic wellbeing. This CETEx policy brief examines the relationship between climate and the broader nature dimensions (including biodiversity and water), which is often described as the climate–nature nexus. The authors argue that addressing these challenges sequentially or in silos risks missing critical opportunities for building economic, social and ecological resilience and reducing vulnerabilities.
