China is currently the largest country emitter of greenhouse gases in the world, and also home to a large population that is exposed and vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and other environmental threats.

The Grantham Research Institute is engaged in a sustained programme of research, policy analysis and engagement about China’s role in tackling climate change and other serious challenges, and its transition to sustainable, inclusive and resilient growth.

This programme of work is carried out in partnership with experts at other institutions and organisations around the world, and is funded through the generous support of a range of donors.
