Environmental policies and international trade

Our work examines the relationship between environmental policies and international trade, both in goods and in services. We quantify the effects of these policies on trade flows, competitiveness and environmental performance at the firm-level. We also examine the potential role of trade in the global low-carbon transition of traded sectors, in particular as a channel of technology diffusion. We investigate trade policy measures which may promote the export of goods produced with low carbon technology.
