London Climate Action Week 2026 - Grantham Research Institute on climate change and the environment

20-28 June 2026

Now in its eighth year, London Climate Action Week (LCAW) is an annual event which brings together global leaders, businesses, policymakers and civil society leaders in London to accelerate climate action. LCAW is the largest independent climate gathering in Europe and features several hundred in person and online events.

The Grantham Research Institute is hosting, co-hosting and taking part in a range of activities across the week. This page provides details of some of these events and will be regularly updated in the lead up to the week.

The Economic Case for Action on Climate and Clean Air

This event explores how integrated action on air pollution and climate change can deliver immediate health, environmental and economic benefits.

Amazon Voices: Indigenous Leadership for Global Protection

22 June 2026, 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
This discussion will explore how Indigenous leadership, territorial stewardship and traditional knowledge contribute to protecting biodiversity, strengthening climate resilience and advancing sustainable development.

Stewarding Just Transitions in Mining: A Global South Perspective

This panel event explores the global race for transition minerals and its implications for a just transition – focusing on social and environmental risks borne by marginalised communities in the Global South, and the role investors and industry can play in addressing them.

The Methane Challenge: Law, Policy and Action in the UK Onshore Oil and Gas sector

23 June, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
This event will bring together voices from law, policy and civil society to discuss the gaps in onshore oil and gas regulation and policy and how these are being brought to light.

Building the CDR market of tomorrow

24 June 2026, 9:00 am – 11:00 am

This event will bring together leading stakeholders from across the Carbon Dioxide Removal market to explore where markets, policy, and standards are heading, and what needs to happen to accelerate responsible deployment.

This event will explore the financial case for just transition to be considered in investment decisions, asking the question: should the consideration of just transition-related risks and opportunities fall within the remit of fiduciary duty?

Global Trends in Climate Litigation 2026 Snapshot Report Launch

This event marks the launch of the Institute’s Global Trends in Climate Change Litigation 2026 Snapshot report, an annual report now in its ninth year. The report presents an overview of the expansion, complexity, and maturity in the global field of climate litigation.

Just Transition in Poland and the European Union: A New Policy Frontier and the Crucial Role of the Private Sector
