London Climate Action Week: 21-29 June 2025

Now in its 7th year, London Climate Action Week (LCAW) is an annual event bringing together world-leading climate expertise to help solve the climate emergency. LCAW provides a brand and platform under which hundreds of stakeholders host their events, creating a large and vibrant programme of climate-focused activities.
The Grantham Research Institute at LSE regularly hosts or co-hosts events as part of London Climate Action Week.

Financing climate adaptation – role of the private sector
Tuesday 24 June 2025, 9:30- 11:00
Room 9.04, Fawcett House, 2 Clement’s Inn, London, WC2A 2AZ and online
Climate adaptation remains critically underfunded and the role of the private sector in addressing the finance gap is hotly contested. This event, run in collaboration with the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance and Mercy Corps, will share different perspectives, bringing together varied experiences and insights from the international development sector, investors and governments.

From insight to investment: mobilizing capital for nature-based solutions

This strategic plenary session, hosted by GCA, the Grantham Research Institute of the London School of Economics and Political Science and the University of Oxford aims to identify actionable solutions to scale capital flows to nature-based investments in Africa, by leveraging data, de-risking tools, and innovative financing models. The targeted end outcome include translating these actionable solutions to potential partnerships and projects across the developmental and private institutional finance stakeholders.

Nonetheless, concerns persist regarding their environmental impact and the risk of propagating low-quality information, especially with large language models (LLMs).
