The oil and gas (O&G) and diversified mining (DM) companies are some of the largest extractive companies globally. The O&G sector alone contributes to more than 50% of energy-related global emissions, according to the International Energy Agency. With a combined market capitalisation of over $500 billion as of February 2025, the seven O&G companies and five DM companies covered in this year’s Net Zero Standard (NZS) assessments by the Transition Pathway Initiative Centre (TPI Centre) are sizable public companies for investors to engage with to support the transition to net zero.

The TPI Centre’s NZS assessments evaluate the transition planning of seven O&G and five DM companies. In this year’s NZS assessments, the TPI Centre included the DM sector for the first time.

This webinar presented key findings of the latest assessments and explored investor use cases and how to make progress in transition planning within the O&G and DM sectors.
