Climate Litigation: New frontiers for environmental law in Brazil – Introduction (in Portuguese)

The urgency of the climate crisis requires several degrees of intervention and the involvement of state powers, the private sector and civil society entities. In recent years, national and international courts and tribunals have been called upon to judge climate demands. Does it make sense to use climate litigation as a strategy to strengthen climate governance in Brazil? What opportunities and challenges do you face? This is the first work on climate litigation in Brazil, and aims to facilitate the formation of a field of reflection on the subject in the country. Target audience: environmental professionals, judges, legislators, public and private lawyers, academics, representatives of civil society.
