This research topic looks at social justice in relation to climate change and seeks to clarify what equity may entail both in principle and practice.

Efficiency and equity are both important in decision-making on climate change.

This topic deals with the distributive consequences of climate change both across generations (intergenerational equity) and within a generation (intragenerational equity).

The research analyses how normative concepts, such as inequality aversion, affect choices in climate change policy, and is distinctive in developing methods to incorporate equity issues into economic models.

A part of this project is carried out jointly with the Frisch Centre (Oslo).
