The costs of adaptation for UK transport and land systems

This report presents an initial assessment of the costs of adaptation for the UK’s transport and land systems, undertaken as supporting research for the Climate Change Committee’s bespoke analysis of investment in the Well-Adapted UK report. The analysis draws on published cost data where available and applies a range of approaches to estimate future costs, producing a central range estimate in the order of several billion pounds a year across both systems by the 2030s, rising into the 2050s. The findings should be considered indicative and a basis for further analysis, given the limited published evidence currently available in both sectors.
