Global targets for climate adaptation: From international law to implementation (In German)
External Links
This invited editorial outlines the importance of the framework for the global goal on adaptation that was adopted at COP28 in December 2023, and its implications for international law. It describes how its eleven global targets to be achieved by 2030 – the first global targets for adaptation – can make a difference and how they relate to the negotiations on the new global climate finance goal (NCQG) that was adopted at COP29 in November 2024. The editorial concludes by underscoring that research of the legal aspects of climate change adaptation at the national and global level is an important area that requires further attention.
