This report, published by the UN Environment Programme, finds that there is an urgent need to step up climate adaptation planning, finance and implementation. To estimate the extent of  implemented adaptation globally, it draws on project documents from UNFCCC climate funds (the Adaptation Fund, the Green Climate Fund, and the Global Environment Facility’s sub-funds), adaptation projects funded by the top-10 bilateral donors, and adaptation documented in scientific articles. It also looks at the evidence for adaptation outcomes and risk reduction.

Timo Leiter was lead author of chapter 5 and a contributing author to other chapters.
