About

Woong Ki is a first year MPhil/PhD student in Environmental Economics. His research interests revolve around the methodological issues that are still prevalent in the contingent valuation literature, with a specific focus on determining the value of a statistical life under different settings and for different purposes using CVM.

Background

Before joining the LSE, Woong Ki worked at the Seoul Institute (a social science research institute affiliated to the Seoul Metropolitan Government) as a researcher, with contributions to the development of various air quality management schemes for the city. He also has internship experiences on climate change adaptation issues from national and international organizations including the Korea Environment Institute and the World Meteorological Organization.

Woong Ki holds a BS in Earth and Environmental Sciences from Korea University, and a MSc in City Planning in Environmental Studies from Seoul National University.
