About

Tony Greenham is a sustainability leader, economist and researcher with over 30 years’ experience in financial markets, policy and strategy.  His experience spans commercial practice in banking and professional services to directing programmes of economic and financial policy research.

Currently the Chief Impact Officer at the Food, Farming and Countryside Commission, Tony was on an advisory group member for the LSE Grantham Research Institute’s ‘Financing a Just Transition’ programme between 2018 and 2023.

Background

Tony was previously the Managing Director of Sustainability at the British Business Bank, and from 2018 to 2023 was the co-founder and CEO of South West Mutual, a regional banking startup.

He led programmes at the Royal Society of Arts and the New Economics Foundation where he published research on sustainability and economic and financial policy. 

He has also held a number of non-executive and advisory board positions including for the UK Government’s Regional Growth Fund Advisory Panel, the ICAEW Sustainability Committee, the grassroots sustainability charity Transition Network, and Liontrust Asset Management’s sustainability advisory committee. 

He is a Senior Fellow of the Finance Innovation Lab, and a Fellow of the Institution of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Tony has a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MSc in Environmental Assessment & Evaluation from the LSE.
