About

Roberto Spacey Martín is the Resilience Alignment Lead of the Earth Capital Nexus at the Grantham Research Institute for Climate Change and the Environment. His research focuses on making existing financial flows more resilient to environmental change, while also building resilience in others. Roberto has developed expertise in transition plans, corporate disclosures, adaptation taxonomies, the impacts of climate change on central banks, nature-related risk assessment methodologies, and other related aras. Most prominently, he developed the first company benchmark on adaptation and resilience.

Roberto has been working on sustainable finance for over six years. Most recently, he worked closely with Prof Nicola Ranger for two years at the University of Oxford’s Environmental Change Institute and the Resilient Planet Finance Lab. Prior to that, Roberto worked with the Palladium Group as a consultant for various international development programmes focused on sustainable finance, including the UK PACT programme. Roberto holds a Distinction from the University of Oxford’s MSc in Environmental Change and Management, and is currently pursuing a DPhil there, seeking to integrate climate change into credit risk models.
