Joel Johannes-Gold

Joel Johannes-Gold is a Research Assistant for Earth Capital Nexus at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics. His work focuses on modelling climate and nature-related economic and financial risks to inform policy and investment decisions.
Background
Prior to his current role, Joel served as a Climate and Biodiversity Finance Analyst at the United Nations, where he conducted quantitative research for the State of Finance for Nature 2025 report. He previously worked in the European Equities Investment team at GAM Investments, assessing the impact of EU environmental regulations on financial markets and corporate sustainability. His earlier experience includes roles in financial derivatives at Marex, and macroeconomic research at the Bank of England.
Joel holds an MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics, where he graduated with Distinction. He also holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Oxford.
