Elaina Ford

Elaina is a Research Manager supporting projects across the Grantham Research Institute’s portfolio and coordinates and plans for delivery of the operational components of the Institute’s Research. She is also responsible in supporting the Institute Manager in the financial management of the Institute’s core funding.
Background
Elaina holds a PhD in atmospheric physics from UCL. Following a postdoc position at the British Antarctic Survey, she moved into project management, initially of EU funded projects, then through to leading the Post-Award Team to manage the portfolio of EU funded and large-scale collaborative projects from NERC and other funders. As programme manager for EU projects coordinated at BAS, she also led the EU Polar Cluster, a network of EU funded Arctic, Antarctic, and polar collaborative projects.
Prior to joining the Institute, Elaina moved to LSE’s Research and Innovation division’s Research Development Team, as an EU funding specialist developing an EU strategy for RDT, and managing the submission of EU and ERC applications.
