Dhruba Purkayastha

Dr Dhruba Purkayastha is Sustainable Development and Climate Finance Expert over 30 years of experience in International Development, Management Consulting, Financial Advisory, Research and Public Policy. He has worked with leading international and Indian non-profits, think tanks and multilateral development banks in climate, energy transition and sustainability such as Climate Policy Initiative, CEEW and with The World Bank Group. Dhruba has been leading various Sustainable, Climate and Transition Finance initiatives for the Govt of India for Ministry of Finance, Niti Aayog and International Financial Services Centres Authority in India. Dhruba currently works as an Adviser to Energy Policy Institute at University of Chicago in India, and Climate Finance Consultant with UN Climate for the Standing Committee on Finance. He is also a Senior Fellow with the Industrial Transition Accelerator, Mission Possible Partnership, and a Visiting Professor in Practice with Grantham Institute at London School of Economics and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

Dhruba is a Mechanical Engineer from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and has PhD from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
