Tim Foxon, member of CCCEP (Leeds), gave an invited talk at a high-level symposium on energy R&D in Brussels.

The symposium discussed the challenges facing the implementation of the European Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan, and involved senior representatives from the European Commission (DG Energy, DG Research), International Energy Agency and BP.

Tim’s talk focused on the insights from innovation systems theory on the need to address skills and knowledge-sharing issues, promoting diversity of technologies and creating credible long-term commitments.
