Meeting the UN climate goals requires a transformation of how the global economy uses energy and land. Investors have a critical enabling role to play in this transformation. LSE’s new Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI) Global Climate Transition Centre aims to be a key element of the post COP-26 financial infrastructure, supporting transparency, accountability, and action on climate commitments.

This event marked the opening of the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre. During the event Adam Matthews, Chair of TPI and Chief Responsible Investment Officer at the Church of England Pensions Board, outlined TPI’s vision and the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre’s role in that. Professor Simon Dietz, Research Director of the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre, provided an overview of progress being made by large energy companies on the transition. This was followed by a panel discussion on the critical issues in climate investing.
