The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) finally ended in the early hours of Sunday 24 November 2024, following marathon discussions about adaptation, carbon markets and climate finance. But what happened behind the scenes at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan? What impact did Donald Trump’s victory in the United States Presidential Election have on the COP29 negotiations. And what are the prospects for more ambitious pledges from countries being submitted ahead of COP30 in Belém, Brazil, next year? These questions and more will be addressed by a line-up of experts who will share their insights from Baku.
