About

Labanya has over 20 years in financial services, green finance, and international development. He is working as a climate finance expert at the Asian Development Bank and as a Sustainable Finance Consultant at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA). Besides, he an advisor at Climate Trends, and Climate and Sustainability Initiative (CSI). He earlier worked with the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), Climate Policy Initiative, Commonwealth Secretariat, UNDP, and World Resources Institute. He is currently the principal investigator for the “Financing India’s Net-Zero Targets” roadmap, which is being developed at NITI Aayog. Before entering the climate change field, Labanya Prakash Jena spent more than a decade in the financial services sector.

Labanya is an avid writer on climate and green finance. He co-authored a book, “Net-Zero Trio: Synchronizing Technology, Business, and Policy for Green Transition,” published by Bloomsbury.

Background

Labanya holds a Master’s in Economics from Utkal University and is also a CFA Charter holder from the CFA Institute. Besides, he is a Research Scholar at Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, India
