About

Amy O’Mahoney is a Visiting Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment. She joined the Institute in January 2019. She is currently Head of Monitoring and Evaluation in Ofgem, responsible for all retail market monitoring and price cap implementation. Within the Institute, Amy is a member of the Grantham Research Institute Policy Group and supports on the smart meter trial work being undertaken.

Background

Amy holds a PhD in Economics from Trinity College Dublin, a B.Comm and a Master’s degree in Economics, both from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Amy is an energy economist with over 10 years’ experience across the public sector, consultancy and academia. She was worked in Ofgem, the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets, for the past five years in a number of roles including Head of Research and Horizon Scanning and Head of Monitoring and Evaluation. Prior to joining Ofgem, Amy worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin.
