About

John worked on an EPSRC-funded research project, ‘Plasma Assisted Thermo-CHemical energy storage for Carnot batteries (PATCH)’. The research project was partnered with the University of Birmingham and the University of Liverpool.

Background

John completed his PhD in renewable and energy storage in buildings in 2023. Prior to joining Grantham, John worked as an associate lecturer in a Return to Learning module at the University of Exeter (Penryn campus). In this role, John helped students to gain the fundamental knowledge and skills of renewables, enabling them to progress to a higher degree or work in the renewable energy sector. John is also involved in several research projects in renewable energy, building retrofitting and lifecycle carbon funded by the Welsh Government, European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and EPSRC. John is a qualified BREEAM Advisory Professional (BREEAM AP), associate fellow of higher education (AFHEA) and an associate member of the energy institute (AMEI).
