  • The 2026/7 admissions cycle has closed, and our application form is currently closed for essential maintenance. We will re-open on 7 October for the start of the new cycle. If you intend to apply for an Executive programme for the 2026/27 academic session (starting November 2026, December 2026, or April 2027), you must now wait until the new 2027/28 application form becomes available on Wednesday 7 October and apply then.
  • Please note, from Thursday 26 March 2026 the UK Government introduced an emergency brake on new Student visa applications from Afghan, Burmese, Cameroonian or Sudanese nationals. This does not affect current Student visa holders continuing to study at their current institution or visa applications submitted before this date. As LSE will not be able to sponsor new Student visas for nationals of these four countries during this period, we are unable to accept applications from affected students who require a Student visa at this time. 
  • Please make sure that you read and follow all our instructions for the application process to make sure that you submit the right documents in good time. Good luck with your application!
  • Please prepare before you apply: assemble your transcripts, approach referees to make sure they are available and willing to write letters on your behalf (and alert them to expect our email), and polish your Statement of Academic Purpose.
  • Please note that when programmes close, this applies to new applicants only - if your application is already under consideration you should check your individual status on the online tracker rather than using this page.
  • We run a rolling admissions system where programmes close once all places have been filled. Our advice is always to complete and submit your application as early as possible. Some Double Degrees have application deadlines at the partner institution where the application process is carried out there - please check individual programme pages.
  • Research programme funding: Deadlines for consideration for LSE funding are now past.

    The final application deadline for self-funded research programme candidates was 27 May 2026.
  • Please note: The structure and duration of the ESRC studentship offered will depend on a candidate's previous academic experience, and social research training & experience. ESRC studentships offer the option of both full-time and part-time study. We can discuss part-time options with you if you are interested in applying.
  • Graduate Support Scheme funding: The Graduate Financial Support Application has now closed.
