Jonathan is Professor of Politics and Deputy Head of the European Institute at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Background

Jonathan joined LSE as Lecturer in September 2008, after completing his PhD at the European University Institute in Florence. He has held visiting positions at Harvard, Stanford, the Wissenschaftskolleg (Berlin), Humboldt University, Hertie School, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Sciences Po Paris, and the Australian National University.  

Jonathan’s books include Politics of Last Resort (Oxford UP, 2019), The Meaning of Partisanship (with Lea Ypi, Oxford UP, 2016), and Political Allegiance after European Integration (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011).  He has also written for The Guardian, New Statesman, Boston Review and Aeon.
