The Global Impact Group (GIG) was established in 2025 as part of the Global School of Sustainability and the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science. The aim of the GIG is to inform and give impetus to the global agenda on sustainable growth and development at a time of difficult geopolitics and deepening climate crisis. The GIG is a small group of those involved at a high level in international policymaking across sustainable, resilient, and inclusive development. There will be interactions with the multilateral institutions, with the private sector, with some governments and with civil society. The engagements will have a particular focus on careful analytical work on the imperative and opportunity for a major push on investment and how to deliver and finance that investment.
