AI, health technology and innovation
Digital transformation is revolutionising healthcare delivery, from AI-powered diagnostics to remote monitoring technologies. Yet realising the promise of health innovation requires careful navigation of technical, regulatory, and ethical challenges.
LSE Health's research on health innovation and technology evaluates how new technologies can improve health outcomes while ensuring equity and safety. Through rigorous Health Technology Assessment (HTA), we examine the clinical effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and broader societal impact of emerging health technologies, informing evidence-based adoption decisions. We examine the implementation of digital health solutions in diverse health systems, assess regulatory frameworks for emerging technologies, and analyse the economic implications of health innovation. Our work bridges the gap between innovation potential and real-world impact, helping policymakers and health system leaders harness technological advances to address pressing health challenges while managing risks and ensuring that innovation benefits all populations.
