Tom is a consultant at Earth Capital Nexus and leads on policy engagement with governments, regulators, and other experts to support the practical application and implementation of Earth Capital Nexus’ work and research.

Background

He was previously Head of Sustainability Policy Advocacy at Aviva, where his work involved engagement with governments, regulators, and non-state actors on the risks and opportunities arising from the transition to a nature positive, net zero economy and the need for enabling environments to support private sector actors to accelerate the implementation of global ambitions.

He was a member of the Expert Group for the UK government’s Transition Finance Market Review, and has contributed to the work of the UNFCCC New Collective Quantified Goal, Sharm el Sheikh Dialogue, and Baku to Belem Roadmap Processes, he was a member of the finance team at the UN Climate High-Level Champions, a member of the Expert Peer Review Group of the Race to Zero, the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), the EU High-Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance, the UK Green Finance Taskforce, and the UN Global Investors for Sustainable Development.

Tom is a qualified solicitor with an MA (Oxon) in Jurisprudence from the Queen’s College, Oxford and an MSt in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge.
