Professor Alnoor Bhimani speaks at the Manufacturing and Service Accounting Research (MSAR) Conference on How Digitalization is Disrupting Accounting

Professor Bhimani delivered a plenary address at the MSAR conference on 30 June 2021.  He spoke about changes in management accounting associated with technological advances during the 1970 – 2000 period noting that the evolution of digital technologies from 2000 onwards, and especially over the past five year, far exceeds the impact of the earlier period of change. Professor Ane Tamayo appointment Research Fellow in the Financial Economics Programme of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR)

CEPR's international network is made up of 1,500 research economists with a broad European base. As a Research Fellow, Professor Tamayo's role is to promote world-class research to help get policy-relevant results into the hands of public- and private-sector decision-makers. This is a four year appointment for Professor Tamayo.

Dr Andrea Mennicken takes part in the May 2021 EDEN Doctoral Seminar at the European Institute for Advance Studies in Managerment

Dr Andrea Mennicken was part of the Faculty at the recent European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management EDEN Doctoral Seminar on qualitative research in accounting. The EDEN seminar provides awareness of the opportunities when doing qualitative research so that PhD students can make choices about conducting research on the one side. On the other side it also identifies the skills and competencies necessary to undertake qualitative research.

Dr Xi Li (LSE), Oğuzhan Karakaş and Elroy Dimson (University of Cambridge Judge Business School) looked at the nature of and outcomes from coordinated engagements by a prominent international network of long-term shareholders cooperating to influence firms on environmental and social issues. It was awarded first prize in the Brandes Institute’s Call for Research Paper Propose Strategies for Investors Who Seek to Influence Companies to “Behave in a Responsible Fashion.”  MORE

Dr Maria Correia received the award for Best Reviewer/ Discussant, whilst Dr Aneesh Raghunandan received the Best Paper award at recent RAST Conference. The RAST conference held at Stanford University focused on the role of financial reporting and disclosure and its impact on corporate social responsibility, and environmental, social, and governance policies and actions.
