Tracking your application

We give you access to the online Graduate Application Tracker in LSE for You as soon as we have processed your submitted application. We aim to ensure this is no more than 10 working days from when we received your submitted application complete with both references.

Once we have processed your submitted application, we will send you an acknowledgement email containing your unique application ID number and instructions about accessing the Graduate Application Tracker. You will receive this acknowledgement email only once the following has happened:

  1. You have submitted your application
  2. We have received references from both of your nominated referees
  3. We have processed your application. You can keep track of our application processing times here.

Keeping you up to date

The tracker allows you to view up-to-date information regarding the status of your application. The tracker is dynamically linked to our own internal database, reflecting any change or decision on your application as soon as it happens. We also notify you by email as soon as we have processed any further information in relation to your application and once a decision has been made on your application.

Keeping Graduate Admissions up to date

If your contact details have changed since you submitted your application, please let us know by updating your details in LSE for You (go to ‘Addresses’ under the ‘Everyone’ tab on the left-hand menu). Via the tracker you will also be able to submit your Graduate Financial Support Application .

Later in the admission process, you will also be able to use LSE for You to accept or decline your offer and submit the Financial Undertaking Form.

To make any other changes to your application, you will need to use our How do I...? forms.

Setting up your account

You will need to do this before you can use the Graduate Application Tracker for the first time.

After your application has been submitted, we have received both of your references, and your application has been processed, we will send you an email detailing how to activate your LSE for You account and track your application online. The same email will contain your unique application ID number.

If you are applying to LSE for the first time

The email will contain a unique URL. Use this link and follow the instructions to set up your account. The URL will expire after approximately four weeks (the exact date is given in the email), so make sure you complete this task promptly. If you fail to activate your account before the link expires, we will send you a new one.

If you are a previous graduate applicant and have previously activated an LSE for You account (including LSE students and alumni)

You should already have an LSE for You account, and your username will be included in our acknowledgement email. When you next log in, you will have access to the Graduate Application Tracker.

Further Guidance

If you experience any difficulties, full guidance can be found in our Graduate Application Tracker User Guide [PDF].

Please note that you cannot make changes to your application (e.g. changing your programme choices or supporting documents) via LSE for You. To request any such changes, you must use our How do I...? forms.

NOTICE: Please be aware of an issue that has come to our attention regarding email junk/spam filters. Some email software is filtering LSE emails to the spam/junk or ‘Deleted Items/Bin’ folder so please make sure to check there for important information regarding your application. If you do find any of our emails in any of these folders, please make sure to add the domain @lse.ac.uk to your ‘Safe Senders’ or ‘Never Block’ list. Emails will be sent to you automatically from our database system once you have begun your online application and as your application progresses through each step in the process (application created; application submitted; application downloaded for processing). We will then send you a further email each time there is an update to the status of your application, including any requests for further information and the programme selectors’ decision on your application. It is essential that you ensure you can successfully receive our emails as soon as you begin your application.
