Pathways to Law Mentor and Pathways to Banking and Finance Mentor

· The Pathway Mentor roles involve supporting 16–18-year-olds through our Pathways to Law or Pathways to Banking and Finance programme from Autumn Term 2026 to Winter Term 2028.

· Mentors support students at in-person and virtual events which take place every 4-6 weeks on average. (Not all mentors will be required at all events.)

· From June 2027, mentors will offer regular e-mentoring via an online platform – this involves providing information and advice to students around exploring future options, making applications and preparing for next steps.

· There will also be an opportunity to apply to work at the Pathways residential National Conference, held at the University of Warwick in the summer.

· You’ll make a positive impact on young people’s lives and contribute to LSE’s widening participation aims.

· You’ll develop rewarding professional relationships with prospective students from a variety of backgrounds.

· You’ll act as a role model and representative for LSE, your course and your department.

· You’ll develop transferable skills such as leadership, communication, teamwork and organisation.

· The work is fairly flexible, and you’ll be paid an hourly wage (currently £17.70, including for training).

· The Pathways to Law Mentor role is open to year 1 and year 2 undergraduate LSE students studying Law, Law and Anthropology, and Anthropology.

· The Pathways to Banking and Finance Mentor role is open to year 1 and year 2 undergraduate LSE students studying a finance-related degree (eg, from the Departments of Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Mathematics or Statistics).

Please note: LSE students are advised not to undertake more than one of the following roles due to the level of commitment and overlapping dates:

· Pathways Mentor

· Thrive Mentor

· Future Maths Tutor

However, students can combine one of these roles with Student Ambassador work due to its more flexible, ad hoc nature.
