Undergraduate Student Ambassador
Undergraduate Student Ambassadors are trained undergraduate students who are paid to support LSE’s Widening Participation and Student Recruitment and Study Abroad events and activities.
Undergraduate Student Ambassadors help represent LSE at a wide range of in person and online activities, sharing first-hand insights, information and guidance with young people, their parents/carers, teachers and external partners. Ambassadors help inspire future generations of LSE students from the widest range of backgrounds- supporting LSE’s efforts to widen access for UK undergraduate students from underrepresented groups.
The Widening Participation team supports the attainment and progression to HE for hundreds of young people each year. Student Ambassadors support the delivery of Widening Participation events including:
- supervising and leading groups of school students and supporting young people’s engagement at events
- contributing to subject specific sessions and workshops
- project work both on and off campus
As a Student Ambassador you will have the opportunity to support LSE’s Student Recruitment events and activities including:
- delivering campus tours
- supporting the delivery of LSE Open and Offer Holder Days
- representing LSE at Higher Education Fairs and Conferences.
- You’ll act as a role model and positive representative for LSE, your course, and your department.
- You’ll develop transferable skills such as relationship-building, communication, teamwork, and organisation.
- You’ll be paid an hourly wage, including for training (currently £17.70).
- Work offered is flexible and you can sign up to shifts around your availability.
If you are a 1st year Undergraduate student at LSE, you can apply to become an Undergraduate Student Ambassador.
It is advised that LSE Students do not undertake more than one of the following roles due to the commitments and overlapping dates of the role: Pathways Mentor, Thrive Mentor, Future Maths Tutor. LSE Students can however work in both the Student Ambassador role and one of the above roles due to the ad hoc nature of the Student Ambassador work.
