Thrive Mentor

• Supporting four visits to the LSE campus for programme participants between February – October 2027.
• The opportunity to apply to work additional virtual events related to the Thrive programme throughout the academic year, including sessions on student finance, revision and study skills and student wellbeing.
• Being an inspiring role model to young people on the programme by providing advice and guidance.

• You’ll make a positive impact on young people’s lives and contribute to LSE’s widening participation aims.
• You’ll develop rewarding professional relationships with prospective students from a variety of backgrounds.
• You’ll act as a role model and positive representative for LSE, your course, and your department.
• You'll enhance your CV and gain experience of working with young people in the UK education system.
• You’ll develop transferable skills such as relationship-building, communication, teamwork, and organisation.
• You’ll receive training on how best to support the cohort in January before the first campus visit in February.
• You’ll be paid an hourly wage (currently £17.70, for all four visits and for training).

• We are looking for LSE students in Year 1 or 2 of undergraduate study at LSE, or Year 3 of a 4-year undergraduate programme.
• You should have an in-depth understanding and knowledge of issues pertaining to racial inequality and education in the UK, specifically in relation to students of Black heritage.

Please note: LSE students are advised not to undertake more than one of the following roles due to the level of commitment and overlapping dates:

· Pathways Mentor

· Thrive Mentor

· Future Maths Tutor

However, students can combine one of these roles with Student Ambassador work due to its more flexible, ad hoc nature.
