• Lauren Sukin has co-written a new article with Alexander Lanoszka in International Studies Quarterly which assesses how sanctions, diplomacy, and NATO force posture influenced ally assurance in the aftermath of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. • Anna Getmansky has co-published an article in International Studies Quarterly Vol 68, issue 2. Read 'Diversity without Adversity? Ethnic bias towards refugees in a co-religious society'.
• Fawaz Gerges has been interviewed by LSE Research for the World on his new book, What really went wrong in the Middle East?He discusses America’s concern over Communist Russia and its attempt to establish a Pax Americana, and how this led it to make disastrous foreign policy decisions in the Middle East- read the article.
• Lauren Sukin has published an article in the March edition of LSE Research for the World, The downsides of being a nuclear superpower. She suggests that leaders with the biggest nuclear arsenals may not always wield the most power on the global stage – when it comes to conflict between nuclear states, sometimes a country’s strength can also be its disadvantage.
• LSE Fellow Dr Dimitrios Stroikos has published a new article, India and the 'South Asia Satellite' as a foreign policy tool.

• Rohan Mukherjee's book, Ascending Order: Rising Powers and the Politics of Status in International Institutions has received the 2024 T V Paul Best Book in Global International Relations award from the Global IR section of the International Studies Association (ISA).
• Professor Robert Falkner has published an article ‘The Longue Durée of International Environmental Norm Change: Global Environmental Politics Meets the English School of International Relations’, in Global Environmental Politics. • LSE Fellow Dimitrios Stroikos has edited the latest volume of Space Policy, which is out now.
  Dimitrios was also featured in the 'Thinking Global' podcast, where he discussed China, India, outer space security, and the militarisation of space.
  Dimitrios has co-edited an open access book with Indrajit Roy, Jappe Eckhardt, and Simona Davidescu, Rising Power, Limited Influence: The Politics of Chinese Investments in Europe and the Liberal International Order. The book develops a dynamic framework of the interaction between state-society relations in Europe with state-society relations in China. Read and download it here.
  Dimitrios has also contributed to the volume with the chapter "China's engagement with Greece under the BRI: Economics, politics, and international imperatives" and co-authored with the co-editors the conclusion "Conclusion: Chinese power meets European agency: Revisiting the Liberal International Order?".
• Research Manager Sarah Hélias was the winner in the category for Research Support Advocate at the LSE Values in Practice Awards.
• PhD candidates Albert Cullell Cano and Sophie Anna Kaldor have received the US Phelan Centre PhD Summer Research Grant 2023-34 for their research projects.
• Katerina Dalacoura has published a chapter, ‘Islamism in Republican Turkey’, in Caroline Tee, Philip Dorroll and Fabio Vicini (eds), The Oxford Handbook of Religion in Turkey.
  Katerina also gave a lecture on 7 February 2024, ‘The International Thought of Turkish Islamists: History, Civilisation and Nation’, at the School of Government and International Affairs, Durham University.

• DINAM Fellow Mariia Zolkina was invited by LSE IDEAS to present her findings on women’s changing roles in Ukraine. Watch Women on the Frontline (Russia-Ukraine Dialogues Series).
• LSE Fellow Howie Rechavia-Taylor has recently published an article in Project Muse: "German Colonialism in the Courtroom—Law, Reparation, and the Grammars of the Shoah".
• Newly graduated IRD Fellow Dr Tarsis Brito has a new publication in Review of International Studies, "Between race and animality: European borders, ‘colonial dogs’, and the policing of humanity".

• Rohan Mukherjee has secured a Tier 3 grant from LSE’s Global Research Fund to co-organise the inaugural ‘Ashoka LSE Diplomatic Studies Workshop’ at Ashoka University (Sonipat, India) in September 2024.
• DINAM Fellow Mariia Zolkina was an expert on a panel at the event 'Russo-Ukrainian War: Where Things Stand', where they discussed the current state of the Russo-Ukrainian war and the most recent military, political, foreign policy, economic, and societal developments.
• Visiting Senior Fellow Dr Anahita Motazed Rad, has published an article in Middle East Monitor(MEMO) on Developmental states in the Middle East and the status of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
• Rohan Mukherjee had his book Ascending Order: Rising Powers and the Politics of Status in International Institutions recently reviewed in Political Science Quarterly.
• LSE DINAM Fellow Mariia Zolkina has has published a column 2024 will be a decisive year for diplomacy. • Fawaz Gerges made an appearance on CNN to discuss "Will the war in Gaza escalate to a wider regional conflict".
• Lauren Sukin has accepted a Stanton Nuclear Security Fellowship at MIT for a visiting appointment as a Junior Faculty Fellow during the 2023-2024 academic year.
• Howie Rechavia-Taylor, LSE Fellow, served as Visiting Professor last month to the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. He made a significant contribution by delivering a specialised course on queer politics, 'Queer Anti-Fascism: Transnational Sexual Politics in Authoritarian Times' for graduate students.
• Spyros Economides will be a Visiting Scholar at Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) at Harvard University from 1 March to 1 June 2024. He will be working on the project ‘Geopolitics, Values and the Re-emergence of "the West"’, which looks at the persistence of the ‘the West’ in international relations and its use in both contemporary academic literature and public commentary.

• Peter Trubowitz's, book Geopolitics and Democracy: The Western Liberal Order from Foundation to Fracture, was listed as one of Foreign Affairs’ "Best of Books of 2023."
• Kira Huju, LSE Fellow, has just published her book Cosmopolitan Elites: Indian diplomats and the social hierarchies of global order (OUP, 2023).] which offers a new way of thinking about liberal order and the cosmopolitan elites who maintain it. It explores how caste underpins social relations among Indian diplomats, and influences how India engages in multilateral diplomacy.
