Inequality: What Can Be Done?

Joint event with Centre of Social Exclusion (CASE)

30 April 2015

World leaders have come to recognise the importance of income inequality but the consensus remains that 'nothing can be done'. Professor Sir Tony Atkinson argues that present levels of inequality are not inevitable and that there are concrete measures to be taken to tacke inequality.

Discussing Professor Atkinson’s ideas at this event are Guardian journalist Tom Clark and Baroness Lister, Emeritus Professor of Social Policy at Loughborough University.

Nicholas Stern, IG Patel Chair of Economics and Government at LSE and President of the British Academy, chairs the debate.
