Research topic

Understanding politics through experience: an immersive participatory study of everyday political life and the spaces and places of politics

Henry’s research explores everyday political life, and the role of community spaces and places in society. Employing an unconventional approach, based on collaboration and reciprocation, his research seeks to address the gap between the underlying assumptions of democratic institutions and the realities of political life. Henry’s research is primarily situated in his community in Aotearoa New Zealand, and he receives research whānau supervision from Fiona Cram

Henry holds a MSc (Distinction) in Politics and Communication from the LSE and a BA (Hons) in International Relations from Victoria University of Wellington. He is the co-founder and Research Director of FOLKL.

Henry’s research is supported by a LSE PhD Studentship.
