This research theme investigates how individuals and groups make judgements and decisions, and how to improve them, using methods and theories from judgement and decision-making and decision science. For example, it examines how lay people and experts perceive risks, form preferences, and how debiasing and choice architecture interventions can improve the way people search for valid information and make good decisions - across a range of contexts with important personal, organisational and societal implications. Our research has been funded by King’s Fund, the European Medicines Agency, the LSE-Google Multi-University Sponsored Research Agreement, and the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme.
