LSESU Accounting Society Welcome Message

from ShuYi Lee, BSc Accounting and Finance (2020-2023) and President of the LSESU Accounting Society 2021-22

Accounting provides a fundamental operating infrastructure for organizations, markets, and society.

Professor Wim Van der Stede

Congratulations on receiving an offer!

The LSESU Accounting Society looks forward to welcoming you. As the only society at the LSE specialising in the field of accounting and professional qualifications, our society embraces a reputable portfolio of high-quality events aiming to raise commercial awareness and to inspire our members to take advantage of the breadth of opportunities available to them. As the most closely-bonded student society to LSE’s Department of Accounting, we can boast a distinguished place at the heart of one world’s leading social science institutions.

We endeavour to create as many opportunities as possible for our members to gain a greater insight into Accountancy and Finance; network with representatives from top firms; develop skills for application processes; and understand the breadth of opportunities available in many different sectors. We aim to achieve these through mentorship programs, talks, skills workshops, and so much more. In addition, we hope to hold social events such as cultural celebrations, pizza nights, and of course our annual dinner, to create a close community. This year we have also recruited for first Postgraduate Officer for the Society to further enhance our events to our postgraduate members. Finally, we also hold weekly peer tutoring help sessions where you can clarify any doubts regarding the course content or even meet some new people.
