Translating Nature Into Risk

The Role of Financial Disclosure Frameworks in Shaping Nature-Related Risks

This project explores how organizations translate complex ecological data into financial risk categories, and how these translations shape both organizational and societal understandings of nature. It aims to focus specifically on the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) as a key example of a data-driven governance framework for managing and disclosing nature-related risks.

Project Objectives

1. Analyze how nature and biodiversity are reframed into organizational risk categories.

2. Investigate how TNFD-aligned companies integrate diverse data sources in developing nature-related disclosure and risk management policies.

3. Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and public engagement.
