Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development


The programme focuses on understanding and evaluating the deployment of AI technologies and prevalent algorithmic approaches with a focus on the enhancement of human capability.

Industrial Revolution 4.0 is essentially centred on Artificial intelligence, machine learning and related technologies disrupting and transforming global processes of production and consumption. Technologies can be crucial to enable inclusive and sustainable growth. Thus this research and policy engagement focuses on understanding the impact of rapid technological developments in order to assess and enable a more equitable economy and society in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The programme focuses on understanding and evaluating the deployment of AI technologies and prevalent algorithmic approaches with a focus on the enhancement of human capability. It engages with the governance and practices of rapid technological change, while delving into the urgent questions of ethics, fairness, inequality and social welfare.
