Dr. Wasim Ahmad is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economic Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. His primary research areas are macroeconomics and finance. His current research interests include credit and business cycle dynamics, emerging markets finance, climate finance, and fintech. He is currently examining the role of governance institutions in emerging economies. In the past, he has worked on international finance issues and investigated the interactions of assets and markets and how these interactions benefit investors and experts.
His publications in peer-reviewed journals include Economics Letters, Energy Economics, Emerging Markets Review, International Review of Financial Analysis, and Finance Research Letters. He has published a book titled "Economic and Financial Integration in South Asia: A Contemporary Perspective (Taylor & Francis). He has also contributed to the policy and governance domains of ERIA (Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He has PhD from Delhi University, India
