About me

Giovanna is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Trento and a Visiting Fellow at the International Inequalities Institute for working on the topics of Inequalities of Opportunity and inequalities in the labour market.

In her research experience, Giovanna surveyed the most recent methodological and theoretical advances in the measurement of socioeconomic inequalities and poverty. In her post-doc research, she is exploring the potential of employing machine learning techniques to study inequalities of opportunity and the intergenerational transmission of inequalities in the labour markets. Giovanna was previously a postdoc research fellow at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia working on the redistributive effects of tax and transfer policies in Italy. She received a PhD in Economics from the University of Siena in 2021. Previously, she graduated in Political Economics at Sapienza University.
