The evening after the 2022 midterm elections, a group of leading political analysts took stock of the results and what they mean for democratic governance in America.

James Morrison is an Associate Professor in the Department of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He specialises in International Political Economy. Prior to coming to LSE, he was an Assistant Professor at Middlebury College (2008-2013) and a fellow at the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University (2012-2013).

 

Stephanie Rickard
Stephanie J. Rickard (@SJRickard) is a Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of politics and international economics. For over fifteen years, she has researched issues related to the international political economy, including trade agreements and international financial rescues. In her award-winning book, Spending to Win, Rickard investigates how economic geography influences countries' economic policies and international economic relations. Rickard comments on current events in the global economy for various media outlets including the BBC and Bloomberg.

Joseph C. Sternberg (@josephsternberg) is a member of the editorial board of The Wall Street Journal, where he writes the Political Economics column. His areas of focus include macroeconomics, monetary and trade policies, and European politics. He joined the Journal in 2006 as an editorial writer in Hong Kong, covering China and Japan and editing the Business Asia column. He was previously an editorial writer at The New York Sun and managing editor of The Public Interest, both in Washington, D.C.

Linda Yueh (@lindayueh) is an economist, writer and broadcaster. She is Fellow in Economics at St Edmund Hall, Oxford University and Adjunct Professor of Economics at London Business School. She is Visiting Professor at LSE IDEAS at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Associate Fellow (Global Economy and Finance Programme & U.S. and the Americas Programme) at Chatham House.
