Why LSE?

Here's why LSE is the perfect destination for you:

 LSE at a Glance

Scholarships for students from Brazil

Every year, LSE bestows numerous scholarships generously funded by private and corporate contributions. These scholarships vary in terms of quantity, value, eligibility criteria, and type, with offerings evolving annually.

Undergraduate study

Undergraduate students from Brazil can apply to the LSE Undergraduate Support Scheme, which provides funding for students who do not have the necessary funds to meet all their costs of study. Successful funding applicants are awarded between £6,000 and £15,000 per year depending on individual circumstances.

Another source of funding is the Uggla Family Scholarship which offers partial tuition fee grants along with comprehensive financial backing for scholars during the academic year, covering various essential expenses such as accommodation, meals, utilities, travel, study materials, and social engagements. Moreover, recipients become valued members of the Uggla Family Scholars community, receiving continuous support throughout their undergraduate experience through a range of activities and opportunities.

Postgraduate study

At the postgraduate level, LSE offers substantial scholarships each year to overseas students, including those hailing from Brazil. Around 19% of aspiring candidates accepted into our taught master's programmes receive financial support, which spans from a 10% reduction in tuition fees to comprehensive awards covering both fees and living expenses. Master’s students from Brazil can apply to the LSE Graduate Support Scheme and the LSE Master’s Awards. Fundação Estudar and Instituto Ling also offer merit-based scholarships for Brazilian students.

PhD students from Brazil can apply for an LSE PhD Studentship and, depending on the programme, they can also apply to ESRC Studentships, London Arts and Humanities Partnership (LAHP) Studentships and programme-related funding awards.
