Hosting Department
The multidisciplinary Department of Social Policy is an internationally recognised centre of research and teaching in social and public policy. From its foundation in 1912, it has been associated with high quality, agenda-setting research into social inequalities, and with developing and evaluating policy solutions. The Department brings together researchers from many disciplines including sociology, demography, economics, and political science, who have particular strengths in comparative research and in the breadth of its international coverage, and who share interests in inequality, social stratification, and national and international social policies and institutions.
